Statement on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.


Councillor George A Duffy – Mayor of Droitwich Spa, representing Droitwich Spa Town Council, Local Elected Members and all residents expresses deep sadness on hearing the announcement of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022.


The wishes of the Royal Family are the foremost consideration at this difficult time and it is expected to know more from Buckingham Palace shortly.


The Flag outside St Richards House is being flown at half - mast.

A Book of Condolence is open at St Richards House in the Council Chamber and can be accessed during normal opening hours (Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm & Saturdays 10.00am to 1.30pm).

Flowers and Tributes can be presented and placed in the front garden of St Richards House next to the flag pole.


Respectfully the scheduled Town Council Committee meetings which were due to take place on Monday 12th September 2022 have been deferred and will precede the Meeting of Full Council which is arranged for 26 September 2022 starting from 6.00pm.


The National arrangements for Proclamation Day are now confirmed. The ceremony for Reading the Proclamation in Droitwich Spa will take place in the garden outside St Richards House. This is arranged for Sunday 11th September at 4.30pm.
