Town Events and Festivals

Droitwich Spa boasts an exciting annual programme of Events which are popular with the local community and visitors. Programmes will be available throughout the year in the NEWS area and on event websites.

The “St Richard’s Festival” over the May Day holiday celebrates Droitwich past and present. Regular features include medieval entertainment, re-enactors, Continental and Farmer’s Markets, crafts and arts exhibitions, a gathering of canal boats, live music and a real ale bar.

Lido Park bandstand is the increasingly popular venue for Droitwich Spa’s own ‘Sunday Proms’. Residents and visitors to the Town can enjoy a varied Programme of free concerts each Sunday afternoon during the summer. The Town Council arranges for a very varied and full Programme of Concerts starting from the beginning of May and extending right through to September. The Concerts take place from 2.30pm to 4.30pm every Sunday at the Lido Park bandstand and you are invited to bring picnics and chairs to make an enjoyable afternoon, but of course if you are only walking through the Park for a short time please just stop and listen for a while. Al’s Kitchen at the Droitwich Spa Lido will be open during all the Concerts and the Lido Pool opens at the end of May.

There is a Food & Drink Festival in June with the emphasis on local suppliers of food and drink at different venues throughout the Town. This festival takes place on Salt Barrow Market and in Vines Park. Attractions include a “Salt Alley” with Heritage displays, live music and entertainment, street markets and community stalls , a fun dog show, rubber duck race on the river Salwarpe, puppet shows and a canal towpath fun run.
